How It Played Out

Whilst Djoko was fighting to stay in Aus, I travelled to Marbella to attend a Spanish padel coaching qualification course run by the RPP (Registry of Padel Professionals).

Nadal stages a comeback from beyond the grave, 2 sets 3-2 and 40-0 down against the hard court machine Medvedev to win the Aus Open in 5hrs 24mins.

Padel workshops begin in February at Holmer Green, UK Padel.

In March I paired up with Jared, playing for Jet Padel in the ipadel finals.

April-June 2022

How It Played Out

In April, a new role as Padel Coordinator at David Lloyd Raynes Park.

We ran an American doubles tournament followed by a barbecue at Priory Park Club, Richmond.

Weekend tennis workshops in London (Lincoln's Inn Fields and Waterlow Park) came thick and fast back in May.

In June, The Queen's Jubilee 4 day holiday was spent running an "Attacking" themed tennis camp in Barnes.

At David Lloyd Raynes Park members got a taste of competitive padel at the inaugural padel tournament.

How It Played Out

Djoko seals his 7th Wimbledon crown against the enigma that is Kyrgios, moving on from the deportation fiasco in Australia

The first professional padel event ever in Great Britain came to London in August. The FIP Rise competition, part of the Cupra FIP Tour, was staged at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton.

Having spent the best part of 2 years on the sidelines, Federer calls time on a 24 year career at the Laver Cup in London.

David Lloyd comes to Bicester. New facility with 3 padel courts opened on 19 September.

How It Played Out

After the summer tennis and padel tour of duty, an escape to Jávea, Spain in October to recce some venues and train with some local pros.

Good news... David Lloyd Bicester gets the green light for a roof to cover the 3 padel courts.

David Lloyd Raynes Park padel programme enters the competition stage with entry into the ipadel league in the South London divisions.

Autumn padel. The extreme padel season begins. Rain, frost, leaves, snow and ice fail to stop players getting their padel fix

Padel comes to Oxford. MVP Ox Sports open in December offering pay and play padel. All bookable via MATCHi app.

HEAD open day at David Lloyd Bicester. What rackets will make the Christmas wish list ?
